Bush was presented with a major catastrophe within the first 9 months of his term.

Palin’s catastrophe of a daughter is being forced to carry a full term of 9 months.

Bush chose Cheney because he was a man with bounds of experience in foreign policy and had served in both White House staff positions and in the US Congress.

Palin was chosen to pander to women and tip the scales back to a dead heat. Sorry, but it’s true.

Bush fumbled the ball after 9/11 but succeeded in rallying the country to return hope to the American people.

24 September 2001, Palin and the Wasilla city council voted in favor of Bed and Breakfasts being run in private homes.

Bush pulled off a truly unbelievable feat be being re-elected for a second term.

Palin won 2nd runner up in the Miss Alaska Pageant..

Bush makes up words and works them into his speeched masterfully.

Palin makes up excuses for Fed funding and works them into the Federal budget..

Even though Bush’s regime was no walk in the park, If we elect McCain and his enormous fuck-up we’ll end up with an economy that crippled by an administration that doesn’t know whether it wants build a bridge to Iraq or send more troops into Gravina Island.

OK… There’s many things wrong with her that i don’t even know where to begin.

Up until she spent a week in hiding from the press after the RNC she didn’t even know what the Vice President of the US does? Has she got a brain in her head… Why would you even say that if you were on the Short List of Veep picks?! Why in the world would anyone want her to be the VP and why didn’t the McCain camp dig up all this stuff BEFORE he picked her. I received a list of the websites and news media coverage that McCain’s people used in the vetting process… Yes.. They used Wikipedia and a copy of the October 22nd, 1997, issue of the Mat-Su Valley Frontiersman that was used to package McCain’s Viagra pills he bought off eBay. Our sources say that he bought the pills in 1997 when he was 60 and only uses them to keep his heart pumping…

I digress… Did you notice how she was spinning the questions back to her and Alaska? I’ve read and listened to the news media in Alaska… They have a very “Yay, Alaska and fuck everyone else!” mentality. Pardon my French, but i felt it appropriate.

Next, the Charlie Gibson interview.

Canada..? Mexico..? What drunk college student with a spare tank of gas, a few friends, a nickel bag and the undying urge to see a Donkey Show or get some Poutine hasn’t been to Mexico or Canada?! Fuck Mexico and Canada… Ol-èh?!

But seriously… Canada and Mexico are awesome… I’d rather live in either place than this seriously demented country… Back to the interview. Gibson asked shitty questions and Palin gave shitty answers.

Q (I’m going to paraphrase): Do you think you’re ready to be vice president?
A: I will be when Inauguration day comes around.

She sounds pretty sure of herself doesn’t she? Scorecard: Deadly Sins = 1(Pride)

Q:  Did you ever want to say ‘no’ to McCain?
A: I told him (paraphrasing), are you sure?… OK, then. Here goes nothing.

She didn’t second guess herself.. she second-guessed McSame, much like the McCain is doing now.

Q: Do you think your credentials prepare you for this?
A: And I quote, “Blah blah, reform, blah blah, energy, blah, governor, blah, oil & gas.”
Follow up: “National security is a whole lot more than energy.”
Response: No, it isn’t… It’s all about my gas.

Notice how, once again, she spins the question back to her state and its fine exploitable natural resources.

Q: Have you ever met a foreign head of state?
A: No, but niether did that one Vice President that I don’t have time to name…

Passing the buck onto a bunch of people she’s never even met? Despicable.

Q: What do you think about Russia and Georgia?
A: Alaska has an eye on Russia, don’t worry about it… and Georgia is a great.. I love Atlanta!

But, really.. she recited some stupid speech that he people gave to her to memorize and it was spin, spin, spin.

I nodded off after she said “You know you can see Russia from Alaska”… as if looking at the desert of Siberia will keep Putin in check… That’s like staring at a killer’s butt as he strangles his victim… “What can I say he had an ass..”

Step one: Register

You can’t vote in any election unless you are registered to vote.

Often you will be asked to choose a party affiliation. This is due to that in some states with closed primaries you must be affiliated with a particular party in order to vote in the primaries. These states are: AZ, CA, CO, CT, DE, FL, KY, MD, MA, NE, NM, NY, NC, OK, OR, PA, RI, SD, UT, WV, and also Washington, DC, and Puerto Rico (sorry, vote your still doesn’t count).

You can Register to vote at www.vote411.org or when renewing your driver’s license.

Step two: Know Your Polling Place.

Many voters are either unfamiliar with the location of their voting places and just don’t go or arrive too late after looking for it. Scope out the area. Popular places for voting are Community centers, churches, schools, universities, and government buildings.

Again you can find your polling places at www.vote411.org or on your local government’s website.

Step three…

For god’s sake know who’s on the ballot before you arrive. Once again… www.Vote411.org will direct you to your state’s election website and you can find out what offices are up for grabs and who’s running.

Step four: Know the initiatives

Policies that are formed in the local, state, and federal government stem from you voting on the initiatives. Some of the wording on these initiatives can be confusing… KNOW WHAT YOU’RE VOTING FOR.

Ex: Referendum 1: Do you support or oppose a law that requires cessation of employer’s efforts to promote Affirmative action.

You look at the beginning and end of that sentence, “Do you Support or oppose… affirmative action.” If you vote support, you said that you want a law that is opposite of your belief. This is worst case scenario, but some initiatives have wording that is just as complicated and bass-ackwards as my example.

Step five: Know where the candidates stand on the issues you care about.

I’m in the process of cross-referencing my local ballot with The Nebraska Voters guide. The last time I voted (which was my first time) I realized that I now know why nothing ever gets accomplished in Washington short of a major catastrophe… I really have no idea what these people do or what they stand for and I could see how easy it was just to vote incumbent. So in 2004 absentee voting in Iowa as I was in college in Missouri I checked my box for president and put it in the envelope. I could have easily voted straight ticket, but I chose to only vote for the one candidate that got enough media coverage to sway my vote.

Each state should have a place where you can look to see what each individual person cares about. Or you could ask the people who will be knocking on your doors in the near future. Ask them questions, if they don’t know the answer, ask for information or a phone number you can call or a website you can visit. 99.9% of all election nominees have websites.

If you follow these rules, not only will you be doing your civic duty, you will be more prepared come Election Day and you will be in and out of your polling place in record time. And if you get asked to do an Exit Poll tell them to shove it because the news media and pollsters only like to cast doubt and speculation on the actual results.

But maybe we’ve been asking the wrong question.  Instead of “Who is Sarah Palin?” maybe we should be asking “Why Did McCain choose Palin?”  It’s a question we’ve been asking in a what-was-he-thinking kind of way, but we should be asking it straight up.  Instead of treating the nomination as the choice of some doddering maverick-y fool, we should be asking it seriously.

At first, we assumed McCain picked her in an attempt to win over Hillary voters.  If that were the case, though, why not pick a female candidate more qualified and with less scandal-baggage? 

Maybe it was because she is an ethical reformer who wants to cut government spending.  Again, though, if that’s the reason, why not pick a candidate with qualifications in those areas?  And, as we’ve found, Palin isn’t exactly a shining example of an ethical reformer or a budget-cutting politician.

No matter what reasoning we come up with, Palin’s nomination just doesn’t make sense.  By any criterion, Palin has next to no experience in any area that really matters.   Economy, foreign relations, armed forces.   We’re still left with “Why did McCain choose Palin?”

McCain is old.  McCain is a “maverick.”  But McCain is not stupid.  So, let’s assume for a moment that McCain had a very sound reason for nominating Palin.

Before Palin, McCain had a few problems running against Obama.  His age against Obama’s youth, his average speaking ability against Obama’s ability to energize a crowd, his averageness against Obama’s “celebrity”.   And, of course, being a Republican in a country that is tired of its current ruling Republican. 

Why did McCain choose Palin?  Because he’s smart.  With Palin in the mix, Obama’s campaign predictably switches its focus from McCain to Palin.  Now we’ve got a Presidential candidate running against a Vice Presidential Candidate and McCain can just keep out of the way while all of the action happens.

I keep hearing people say we vote top of the ticket, but how do we do that when the race is Obama v Palin?  We already know what McCain said he stands for, but with Palin forcing Obama to react to her instead of McCain, Obama has no chance to draw McCain out.  McCain stays static while Obama changes.

Palin wasn’t the choice of a maverick who got too maverick-y for his own good, she was the perfect choice to stir up the public.  She keeps us focused on scandal while McCain sails into the Presidency.

First of all Palin said during her nomination speech that she told congress, “Thanks but no thanks, on that bridge to nowhere.” First of she was one of the major supporters of the Gravina Island Bridge (its proper name) right up until the U.S. Senate said, “Uhh, no.” Then she pulls a, “Oh, no you didn’t… We didn’t want your money anyhow.” But here’s the kicker.. SHE KEPT THE MONEY! That would be like me buying a gallon of milk at the store, then changing my mind saying I don’t want it then the cashier says, “Fuck you, I didn’t want to sell you the milk anyway,” and then the cashier pockets my money. I wouldn’t put up with that. I’d give the state of Alaska a big ass bill for the money she ought to pay back. It’s not like they can’t afford it.

Michael Goldfarb in the McCain report claims Palin to have more “executive experience” than Obama and Biden combined. Let’s look at her view of being mayor of Wassila she said, “It’s not rocket science. It’s $6 million and 32 employees.” Her words.. Not mine. OK, she was governor for a year and a half.. A bad one, but governor none the less.

According to a radio interview conducted by radio hosts Mike Tyler and Todd Brandt of “The TNT Radio Empire” on KEZO-Omaha with fellow radio host Rick Rydell of KENI-Anchorage Governor Palin has “raised taxes to the highest marginal tax rate in the world.” He goes on to say, “She raised taxes [for oil companies] higher than Hugo Chavez [of Venezuela]. You’d think she’d have a heart (yeah right) and give some of that big BP and Exxon Valdez money back the U.S. taxpayers.

By the way, Rydell hosts a CONSERVATIVE morning radio show on KENI-Anchorage, but he’s got some serious opinions on Alaska’s favorite daughter. “She’s the most liberal governor we’ve ever had.” That’s saying something as she beat Democrat Tony Knowles in the race for governor in 2006. Rydell also said that “[She] sometimes doesn’t even get basic constitutional concepts.” Because of his views regarding Governor Palin he says he is, “persona non grata” in the Palin camp.

But… he isn’t the only right-winger that’s been attacking Palin. Lyda Green, the REPUBLICAN president of the Alaska State Senate and district ‘G’ representative was quoted as saying, “She’s not prepared to be governor. How can she be prepared to be vice president or president? Look at what she’s done to this state. What would she do to the nation?”

This is the question we have to ask ourselves… What would she, and by she I mean the lying, unprepared, under-achiever who wakes up in the morning and covers up her bulldog face and lazy eye with only lipstick, apparently.. What would she do to our country.
