“I accept the challenge of a tough fight in this election against confident opponents at a crucial hour for our country,” said Sarah Palin on Wednesday night at the Republican National Convention in St. Paul, MN. The 44 year-old Governor of Alaska was chosen by Sen. John McCain (R-Arizona) as his Vice Presidential Nominee. Palin, a self-proclaimed “soccer-mom” from Wasilla, AK, apparently has enough political experience to perhaps be the leader of the free world.
She has impeccable credentials: Governor of a barren wasteland with 1.2 people per square mile, mayor of the village of Wasilla (4th largest in Alaska with 7,000 people), and don’t forget Miss Congeniality in the Miss Alaska pageant. One can only assume that this mother of 5 was just as shocked as the rest of us to find out that she was McCain’s pick. I doubt that she would even have picked herself in this position. This pick was about as smart as President Bush’s stance on success, “So long as I’m the president, my measure of success is victory – and success,”
